Step 1: Be Prepared! You need the proper equipment to ensure your safety and the safety of others in the space that you find mold. Cleaning mold can be an easy job, with the right tools. Step 2: get rid of the clutter!
This is the point where you take out everything that has been exposed to mold or has mold on it. Put it in large contractor bags and get it out of the space you’re attempting to clean. If you keep an item that has mold on it, especially a porous surface, the mold will return. So I recommend throwing everything away that has been exposed.
Step 3: make the space as dry as a desert!
For this step, you’re probably going to need a dehumidifier. As well as fans to circulate the air and dry off any surfaces.
Step 4: Bleach!
You’re going to want to scrub and spray everything down with bleach. That includes walls floors and surfaces. I recommend bleach because it is very effective and getting rid of mold spores, including microscopic mold.
